SYSTEM ONLINE | RESPONSIBLE SCRAPING CHARTER
volunteer_activism POLICY

The limits we hold ourselves to, and expect our customers to hold to as well.

Webraptor exists to make legitimate data collection reliable. This charter states the principles the platform is built around and the conduct that will get an account suspended.

LAST UPDATED · 19 SEPTEMBER 2026

1. Legitimate purpose

Captures must serve a lawful purpose such as research, price transparency, brand protection, catalogue management or interoperability. Curiosity is not a purpose.

2. Public data by default

The engine is designed for content reachable without credentials. Capturing behind a login or paywall requires your own authorisation for that account, and remains your responsibility.

3. Respect for access controls

We do not market the platform as a means of defeating authentication, and we will not help customers bypass it. Cloaking exists to keep legitimate sessions coherent, not to defeat authorisation.

4. Rate and load

Per-target concurrency defaults are deliberately conservative. Customers must not configure capture rates that degrade a third party's service; we reserve the right to throttle target domains unilaterally.

5. No sensitive personal data

Harvesting special-category data — health, biometric, political, religious, sexual orientation or similar — is prohibited. Personal data collection must be minimised, lawful and documented by the customer.

6. Transparency

Customers should honour published opt-out and takedown requests. We will pass on a credible complaint to the account concerned and will suspend the account where the complaint is not resolved.

7. Jurisdiction

Customers are responsible for complying with the law that applies to them and to the targets they capture, including database and data-protection rules. Our infrastructure location does not change your obligations.

8. Enforcement

Breach of this charter may lead to throttling, suspension or termination. We would rather lose a contract than operate a platform used for abuse.
